Hot dog! My sins are gone! Gotta love good preaching about our good God, and His good gospel. A little alliteration for Todd’s Baptist side.

  2. willjkinney says:

I agree with the theology, but why have most of you rejected the Reformation Bible for the new Vatican Versions like the ESV, NIV, NASB, NET, Holman, etc.? Can anybody see the irony here?

Todd, the last two episodes I’ve seen have used denomination bashing. I really hate to see that. It would be just as easy to say “some people believe” with out mentioning denominations. I haven’t disagreed with the statements made, just the naming of specific denominations, demonizing them in doing so. As Christians, core beliefs are so important. The things that distinguish most denominations are not core beliefs. Let’s focus on glorifying and uplifting our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and not beating down people by bashing their denominations. We are all ONE CHURCH, the BODY OF CHRIST.

  5. Loisamor, I would call myself a Baptist, but I thought what he said was funny, in addition to being well-said (especially since I interpreted for 2 decades for Episcopalians, who don’t know any monosyllabic theology!). If we cannot laugh at our vagaries and eccentricities how can we hope to respond to a world that says really raw things about us?

Well, the majority of Christiandumb has most definitely dumbed down their “bibles”. Nobody seriously believes that any of them are the inerrant words of God, and most of what they ARE using are the new Vatican Versions. But all is going according to God’s eternal purpose. He said He would send a famine of hearing His words into the land and that is what is happening now.

Undeniable Proof the ESV, NIV, NASB, Holman Standard, NET etc. are the new “Vatican Versions”

      http://brandplucked.webs.com/realcatholicbibles.htm

“Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth..is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit…and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication…Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins” Revelation 17:2-5; 18:2-4

  6. BTW, that’s “DUMBED down.” 😉 lol!

  7. Ah, willjkinney. If you would learn to be winsome, you might actually “win some.” Have you not yet learned that “a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still”?

Hi Lloyd. Did you actually READ the article I wrote that PROVES these fake bible versions like the ever changing ESVs, NIVs and NASBs are in fact the new Vatican Versions? Can you in any way dispute the facts presented there? Then you can go on to Part Two and see all the whole verses, phrases and hundreds of words omitted by the modern Catholic versions and the ESV, NIV, NASB stuff. Why? Because they are ALL based on the same Vatican directed UBS critical Greek text, and they all often reject the clear Hebrew readings and add to them. These are fake, corrupt bible versions that nobody believes are God’s inerrant words.

Mincing words and “playing nice” doesn’t wake people up and push them into a corner where they have to face the truth that they are in fact unbelievers in the inerrancy of the Bible and they have no final and infallible written authority from God Almighty.

Some have ears to hear and others do not.

If you have an inerrant Bible, then show it to us. Otherwise try to face the fact that you are a bible agnostic who does not know for sure what God may or may not have said in His Book.

      • ΜΑΤΘΑΙΟΣ Ζʹ:Αʹ – Εʹ

      • willjkinney says:

Hi Lloyd. The verses you quote in Greek there are telling us not to judge hypocritically. They do not teach that we are not to judge. We are to first cast the beam out of our own eye (No Bible is inerrant – I used to believe that way too) and then we can see clearly to cast the beam out of the other person’s eye.

I simply tell the truth that neither you nor James White nor Dan Wallace nor John MacArthur believes that ANY Bible in ANY language IS or ever was the complete (66 books in a single volume), inspired and inerrant words of God and you are all bible agnostics – you do not know for sure what God said in hundreds of examples. Is what I am saying false? Am I bearing false witness against you and these others who lie when they SAY they believe The Bible IS the infallible words of God?

No. What I am saying is the truth. Prove me wrong and SHOW us a copy of this infallible Bible you and these others seem to want us to think you actually believe in. Will you do that for us? Not gonna happen, is it.

      • “Mincing words and “playing nice” doesn’t wake people up and push them into a corner where they have to face the truth that they are in fact unbelievers in the inerrancy of the Bible and they have no final and infallible written authority from God Almighty.”

You clearly endorse the opposite approach. How’s that working out for you? Are people rushing to repentance?

Is that how you came to a saving knowledge of Jesus? Being browbeaten into changing your view and crawling bloody into the kingdom? I am so glad that my Lord is neither so weak nor a bully.

Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Luke 6:43-45 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

      • willjkinney says:

Hi Lloyd. Yes,God hit me over the head and brought me to my knees in recognition of what a lost wretch I was and how totally wrong in my belief system. And Yes, there are others coming to realize that the King James Bible really is God’s inerrant Book.

And what exactly has been the fruit of your modern, fake, Vatican Versions that nobody seriously believes are the inerrant words of God. Widespread unbelief, biblical illiteracy, huge numbers of young people leaving the churches and the Ecumenical movement, the emerging church and post modernist thought. Yes, indeedy, those are some great fruits, huh.

The polls show that the Majority of present day Christians do NOT believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and the polls also show a widespread and growing biblical illiteracy and ignorance.

The truth of the matter is that with the widespread use and acceptance of these modern versions the level of Biblical Illiteracy has reached scandalous and epidemic proportions. Read more about this here –

        http://www.religiontoday.com/columnists/al-mohler/the-scandal-of-biblical-illiteracy-its-our-problem-1270946.html

A recent Gallup poll reveals “Americans revere the Bible–but, by and large, they don’t read it. And because they don’t read it, they have become a nation of biblical illiterates.” How bad is it? Researchers tell us that it’s worse than most could imagine. Fewer than half of all adults can name the four gospels. Many Christians cannot identify more than two or three of the disciples. According to data from the Barna Research Group, 60 percent of Americans can’t name even five of the Ten Commandments. “No wonder people break the Ten Commandments all the time. They don’t know what they are,” said George Barna, president of the firm. The bottom line? “Increasingly, America is biblically illiterate.”

Multiple surveys reveal the problem in stark terms. According to 82 percent of Americans, “God helps those who help themselves,” is a Bible verse. Those identified as born-again Christians did better–by one percent….Some of the statistics are enough to perplex even those aware of the problem. A Barna poll indicated that at least 12 percent of adults believe that Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife. Another survey of graduating high school seniors revealed that over 50 percent thought that Sodom and Gomorrah were husband and wife. A considerable number of respondents to one poll indicated that the Sermon on the Mount was preached by Billy Graham. We are in big trouble. The larger scandal is biblical ignorance among Christians. Choose whichever statistic or survey you like, the general pattern is the same. America’s Christians know less and less about the Bible. It shows.” (End of article portions)

  8. Have you read the books I referenced? Read the text in the photos?
ΙΑΚΩΒΟΣ 1:20 “ὀργὴ γὰρ ἀνδρὸς δικαιοσύνην θεοῦ οὐ κατεργάζεται”

  9. Angry people with angry lives. So sad. Do not be cross with them. Pity and pray for them. But don’t imagine it will change their hearts, it will very likely only make them more cross, but that is their burden.

I know so many of them and they are lonely and often alone, but they blame everyone else for their problems. Many have a “prophet complex,” apparently believing God has called them to be angry, snarky and aggressive as a means to this end. If not that, then they enjoy this opportunity to be condescending, self-righteous and “right.” Poor benighted beings.

They assume, make judgements and declare what they IMAGINE are in people’s hearts and minds, behaving as if THEY are God , when it is HE ALONE who knows the hearts and minds of all people. They will not take the time and patience to listen because they are so busy talking, nay, shouting. But when we all stand before the Judge of All, they will finally know the truth.

They believe they can bully people into changing their minds instead of creating an environment that makes people even WANT to listen to them – it is all they know. And they only get more angry because no one is listening, and it is their own doing, but it is easier to blame other people than accept that they have created the hostile environment they imagine surrounds them, and that it is quite certain God doesn’t approve of their methods.

I actually know a wise teacher who, with winsomeness, logic, patience and humor has brought many into an appreciation of the KJV more effectively than any of this man’s ilk has ever done.
    *****
The Wind and the Sun were disputing which was the stronger. Suddenly they saw a traveller coming down the road, and the Sun said: “I see a way to decide our dispute. Whichever of us can cause that traveller to take off his cloak shall be regarded as the stronger. You begin.” So the Sun retired behind a cloud, and the Wind began to blow as hard as it could upon the traveller. But the harder he blew the more closely did the traveller wrap his cloak round him, till at last the Wind had to give up in despair. Then the Sun came out and shone in all his glory upon the
traveller, who soon found it too hot to walk with his cloak on.

Moral of Aesops Fable: Kindness effects more than severity

    • willjkinney says:

Hi all.You will notice that Lloyd has lots of words of advice and sunny, happy thoughts to share with us, and clever little Fables to give us some kind of a moral lesson to ponder, but she has NO inerrant Bible to believe in or to give to anybody else.

Oh, that’s just a minor issue and not really worth paying attention to. Anybody that points this out is just angry and unhappy, right? So, we can blithely dismiss all this fanaticism and kookiness about actually believing God meant what He said about preserving His words and giving us the book of the Lord as the only source of truth in this fallen world. Anybody who believes that old fashioned way is just out of touch with reality and a nut. Huh?

James White would be proud of you,Lloyd. You have learned well grasshopper.

      • See what I mean? He has proven the truth of my words. Being pleasant only makes them angrier (especially when you recognize them by their words) – they want to see people grovel and cry, they want to crush them and revel in superiority and condescension. He is a verbal abuser – note his words and how wields them like a sword in an attempt to draw spiritual blood.

See how he assumes he knows my mind and what I believe and what I prefer to read, acting as if he can read my mind like God. But God is God, and he is not. He hasn’t even noticed the version of the Bible I was using when speaking to him. He cannot. His pride and rage has blinded him, or he has assumed a negative reason, which is what he does.

Pray that he again humbles himself in the sight of the Lord that He may lift him up.

      • willjkinney says:

Hi Lloyd. I do not have to be a mind reader or God to know what you believe, or rather, don’t believe. I can read English (and Greek too) and the very fact that you will not answer my questions or challenges proves that you are just another bible agnostic and unbeliever in the inerrancy of the Bible – ANY Bible. I have repeatedly asked you to show us your inerrant Bible or tell us what it is called, and all you have done is make some vague reference to “the original languages”. Yet you cannot show us a complete Bible even in your original languages that you honestly believe is the complete and inerrant words of God. You simply cannot show us this Bible you seem to want us to think you actually believe is the 100% true and inerrant words of God.

I also asked you to give us your Number One provable error in the King James Bible, and you have failed to do so. You ignore all my questions because you cannot answer them. But I appreciate your prayers that God will humble me and then lift me up. That is always a good thing.

I seriously doubt you even bothered to actually READ any of the links I gave you. Those are not just copy and paste from some other site. Those are my own studies. Do you deny that the Vatican is directly involved in the creation of the TEXTS that are used to make up your ESV, NIV, NASB, NET, Holman versions? Again, you refused to answer this question. Why? Because it is the truth. They come right out and tell you this in the Nestle-Aland critical Greek text 27th edition on page 45 of the Introduction.

The supreme irony is that so many Calvinists have rejected the Reformation Bible text and are now using the Vatican text, that NOBODY seriously believes to be the inerrant words of the living God.

  10. Anonymous says:

Yes, I would definitely agree that evangelicals routinely “dumb down” what the Bible says. They keep “missing the mark” by deceiving others into believing, incorrectly, that many Mosaic laws such as the tithing, dietary, mostly prophetic festival, and Saturday Sabbath rest laws have been annulled. But those laws really are still in force. Black skin humans in west Africa who are good at breaking the dietary laws, probably started the most recent Ebola outbreak simply by eating an Ebola infected monkey, a very forbidden animal to eat. I strongly recommend that you visit http://TithingHelps.Us to better understand why many Old Testament laws are still valid and need to be closely observed by Christians.
